LUNAR ECLIPSE: Invitation To Wake up from Sleepiness (March 2025)
Happy Monday Yogis -
It’s that time of year again, eclipse season! We have two eclipses this month, a Lunar Eclipse on Friday March 14th and a Solar Eclipse on Saturday, March 29th. The later Lunar and Solar Eclipses of this year will occur on September 7th and September 21st, respectively.Today, I will be offering insight and illumination around the upcoming Lunar Eclipse on March 14th this week.
According to Vedic/Sidereal Astrology, which aligns with proper Astronomy and the Precession of the Equinoxes, this Lunar Eclipse will be occurring in the sign of Leo at approximately 29 degrees. The Lunar Mansion, (a/k/a Nakshatra) Uttara Phalguni offers its symbolic impression to give insight into areas of relevance that may become points of focus during this Lunar Eclipse.
The Sun and Saturn are big players in this Lunar Eclipse. Saturn is casting its direct aspect on the Moon during the eclipse and the Sun is the depositor of this eclipse (the ruler of Leo). Saturn is currently combust with the Sun and will continue to be through this Lunar Eclipse. Planets are considered combust when they are in close conjunction with the Sun. When a planet is under the influence of combustion with the Sun, it becomes “scorched” or burned up by the Sun, losing its innate strength and power. In Vedic Astrology the Sun often represents the ruling class, the president, the wealthy, the government, or the father. Saturn in this combustion is symbolic of the collective, the people, the common folk, the voting population of people.
Anyone feeling particularly burned, scorched, or inflamed by the the new governmental changes, decisions of the ruling class these days? Feeling powerless to the egregious actions taken to impose power over the people? This theme will be present while Saturn is combust through the Lunar Eclipse and we will experience all of the related complications of mind and emotion that relate to tyranny imposed by ruling power structures: ego clashes, distortion of information, conflict with government decisions and father figures.
After the 20th of March, Saturn breaks free from the combustion of the Sun, but it’s also just preparing for its shift out of Aquarius into Pisces, for it new home for the next 2.5 years. This occurs just as the Solar Eclipse begins in the sign of Pisces on March 29th. This shift from Lunar to Solar Eclipse offers Saturn, (and all the qualities it represents: the people, the common folk, the voting population, structure, stability, oppression, delay and obstacle) the opportunity for a shift, a change a new mindset and a dissolution to take a new form. This may also invite changes to our personal and collective professional and financial state. I say dissolution, because when Saturn moves into Pisces, there is a dissolving quality, breaking down through the dissolving power of the water element. Sometimes things need to be broken down and dissolved before they can be rebuilt or restructured. How are we are as the people going to take part in this dissolution? Will it be to our detriment or to our benefit? Perhaps we, the collective, the people are the main ingredient to facilitating this dissolution as Saturn moves into Pisces? Perhaps the dissolution will be beyond our control and it will be our influence to then impart the rebuilding process with the power of our unification.
The Nakshatra of this Lunar Eclipse is called Uttara Phalguni, it is symbolized by a cot, or a bed insinuating rejuvenation after a period of rest, helping those in need, giving a boost or a foothold to transform or change lives. It is a Nakshatra of a healer, those sympathetic to animals and underdogs, and the benefit of creating alliances, or joining in matrimony and partnership to support the possibility of success and prosperity. Perhaps we can use this symbolism to remind us that our collective has been in a state of rest, passivity, confusion, or sleepiness even and recent “combustive” energies of power structures are instigating the collective to start paying closer attention to the exploitative, subversive tactics that can only be effective when we are in a resting, compliant, sleepy state. It’s an opportunity to WAKE UP, become informed, value our rights, our liberties our values and the power of the allied people when they are united under a vibration of truth and transparency.
We may not be able to find the truth in the news, or in the papers, but we always can find the truth by examining our hearts, evaluating and determining if what is happening is in alignment with natural order, flow and the inalienable rights of our founding philosophies that have become more refined over time. Or is what is happening in this combustive time in direct conflict and threat to it? We always have access to knowledge of truth within the depths of our being. We can access this truth through deep inner reflection and reclaiming a sovereign place for ourselves within ourselves. With that personal spiritual illumination, what is in conflict and direct opposition to that becomes glaringly obvious.
Stay tuned for details on the upcoming Solar Eclipse. Ps Did you know “the Donald” was born on a Solar Eclipse? …more on that coming soon.
